two or three selected members of the
Committee for an informal discussion of
their views on the report.
The Secretary of State may wish to
send to Mr. Pickthorn a personal letter to
say that he will consider in due course an
opportunity of this sort for the two
professors.
As regards (5) and (6) in this file,
I think no answer is required and that both
can be put by; but to No.7 it would be as
by air mail well to send an acknowledgment to say that
it is not contemplated, at any rate at
present, that the report shall be separately
published in this country. It would be
premature to refer the report to the
Advisory Committee, I think, until we have
received from Hong Kong the considered
observations of the Colonial Government and
the University authorities.
